Laser Traceability for Metal Parts Built to Last Decades

Metal parts and components need direct, permanent identification across automotive, bearing, fastener, tool, electronics, and medical sectors. Traceability increasingly mandates DataMatrix or 2D codes for automated scanning and full-lifecycle tracking. One physical reality governs the process: post-processing can destroy an earlier mark, so marking sequence is a design decision, not an afterthought. Medical components must also stay traceable after repeated sterilization.

Sharp, Scannable Codes on Ink-Thirsty Corrugated

Cartons and corrugated boxes are used across food, pharmaceutical, logistics, and retail. Coding supports batch tracking, supply-chain identification, and regulatory compliance — with pharmaceutical serialization requiring an integrated print-inspect-verify closed loop, not printing alone. Two physical realities govern selection: corrugated surface roughness causes inconsistent ink absorption, and coated, uncoated, and recycled papers behave very differently.

Readable Codes on Black Rubber, Before & After Curing

Rubber marking spans raw compound, semi-finished, and finished stages, and traceability often spans all three. Tires require the most complex marking of any rubber product; hoses and belts are made by continuous extrusion demanding non-contact in-line coding. Drivers are batch/spec traceability, tire DOT compliance, and pre/post-vulcanization traceability. Two physical realities govern selection: black carbon-filled surfaces have almost no contrast, and pre- and post-vulcanization are two distinct coding windows with different surface properties.

No Contact, No Tearing: Coding Thin Films & Foils

Flexible film and foil packaging is one of the highest-volume coding applications in food manufacturing. TTO is the established high-resolution technology on HFFS and VFFS lines, with CIJ complementing it on high-speed continuous lines. The industry is transitioning from date-only printing toward full traceability codes supporting GS1 and supply-chain management. That raises barcode/2D quality demands — which the physical behavior of film makes hard to hold.
